APRON

Of easy handing, equipped with a safety device preventing the sliding and threading controls from being engaged simultaneously.

CROSS SLIDE AND TOOLHOLDER CARRIAGE

Both move on a dovetail guideway equipped with adjusting rules. The cross slide is prepared for mounting a rear toolpost or a hydraulic copying attachment.

ELECTRIC EQUIPMENT

Installed in a metal box, completely air and water tight with key lock, situaded at the rear part of the bed and the headstock. Equipped with contactors, thermicals relés magnatothermical differential, low voltage transformer and stop-emergency switch.

HEADSTOCK

Composed by a sufficiently dimensioned box which assures a high rigidity, and made of stabilized pearlitic castiron. Hardened ang ground main spindle monted on lapered roller bearings. Hardened and ground gears made of chrome-nickel steel.

NORTON GEARBOX

Of a complete new and original design, of enclosed construction, in an oil bath. Permits a very vast range of metric, Whitworth and modular pitches. Of the 56 pitches and advances avaliable of each of the 3 ranges, 24 of them are obtained without changing any gear. Security devices against overcharging are incorporated on the threading and sliding spindles.

BED

Made of stabilized pearlitic cast-iron, with or without gap. With induction-hardened and groun prismatic bedways, with a hardness of 400 to 500 Brinell.

TAILSTOCK

Of high rigidity. Its shank is treated and ground and mounted on two bearings for compensating the axial stresses. Quick blocking of the tailstock by means of a cam.
