DESCRIPTION
BED
Made of stabilized pearlitic cast-iron, with or without gap.
With ground prismatic bed ways, with a hardness of 200 to 220 Brinell.
On demand it might be delivered induction-hardened with a hardness
of 400 to 500 Brinell.
HEADSTOCK
Hardened and ground main spindle mounted on tapered roller bearings.
Hardened and ground gears made of chrome-niquel steel.
NORTON GEARBOX
Completely closed construction, with range of metric. Whitworth
and modular threads. Gears and shafts running in an oil bath.
APRON
Of easy handling, equipped with a safety device preventing
the sliding and threading controls from being engaged simultaneously.
CROSS SLIDE AND TOOL HOLDER CARRIAGE
Both move on a dovetail guide way with adjusting rules. The
cross slide screw has a system for compensating the play. The cross
slide is equipped with quick tool return movement and prepared for
mounting a rear tool post or a hydraulic copying attachment.
TAILSTOCK
Of high rigidity. Its shank is treated and ground and mounted on
two bearings for compensating the axial stresses. Quick blocking
of the tailstock by means of a cam.
ELECTRIC INSTALLATION
Control box with contactors and transformer at 24 v.; emergency
stop push-button; and start and reversing control is centralized
in the apron.
